Lunch and Sherwood Forest

sunny 16 °C

Another beautiful day, started foggy at around 7:00 but cleared although remained hazy all day. Had a date to meet someone who has been a friend since we went to school together for lunch. Lunch was at 12:30, there is no respite from the traffic and parking issues so a detour to Newark only resulted in a visit to an Asda petrol station which apart from not hanging up the pump properly at first attempt went well and £53 later we moved on. Lunch was an aubergine dish which was fine but the apple crumble not so much. Everyone else happy with their meals. Lunch lasted until about 3:00 when we left my friends who are preparing to move to Edinburgh to be closer to the son we drove to Sherwood Forest to see the Major Oak and after for drink at the Hop Pole Hotel in Ollerton before returning to Nottingham.
