Culture shock

overcast 22 °C

Made out of the big smoke to another. Flight out from LHR was late Saturday evening arriving in Bahrain early morning got through immigration with some disruption due to misunderstanding and stupidity on my part. The stop in Bahrain was long and unwanted the first leg on a Boeing 787 with all mod cons except wifi not that I wanted it but out neighbor did. The second leg was a horror show, we waited 30 minutes for a large group of Indian men one of them my neighbor who spent the whole journey bouncing up and down with his elbows in my space and never improved even after I complained. Finally cleared immigration and found our taxi driver waiting outside gate 6 also numbered 18! We were both very tired after very little sleep and slept for nearly 11 hours. Today was spent withdrawing money and orientating ourselves with the area. This is obviously a tourist area with shops selling mostly tourist type stuff. The evening was finished with a meal at another restaurant catering to tourists but the food was excellent.
